Famed for being one of the biggest Diwali celebration in Japan, DEEPOTSAV is already in its 4th year of Diwali celebrations. Diwali celebration in Nishi Kasai, Tokyo are famously some of the best in the Japan and now we can proudly say some of the biggest outside of India. The festivities are loudest along Dinosaur park in the heart of the city’s Indian community, where this event takes place every year.

Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, Japan known for organizing such big Hindu festivals in Japan i.e. Holi Milan in Funabori, Dussehra Milan in Kasai and Deepotsav in Nishi Kasai, is working very hard with the aim of bringing both Indian and Japanese cultures on one platform. We assemble together to celebrate Diwali, a festival of lights, a festival which commemorates the victory of goods over evil, and at such gathering the number of Indians run into several thousands.

This year Diwali festival was planned on 26th OCT 2019, Saturday where we have celebrated with thousands of lights and togetherness. HSS Japan team was little worried about weather situation but like every year ..Weather was initially cloudy and no rain on event day.
Ramayana in Ancient Japan:
Hajime Nakamura has pointed out that the Hindu Ramayana and its various versions are found in the name of “Taiheiki” in China and Japan. One can also see the influence of Indian epic Ramanaya in the traditional Japanese dance forms of “Bugaku” and “Gigaku”. An abridged version of the Ramayana is given in a collection of popular tales, named Hobutsushu (Collections of Jewels) by Tairano Yasoyari in the 12th Century.
Just 4 hours and so many performances candles, LED Designs by various group members, Mehndi stall, Western Union stall, RAVAN DAHAN and Yummy Authentic Indian VEG foods, Kids playing with fireworks. Shri Raj Shrivastava jee, Deputy Chief of Mission, Indian Embassy graced the occasion with his presence and appreciated the hard work done by organizing committee. We really enjoyed the cultural extravaganza on this Diwali festival.Tremendous job done by Volunteer team as always.

See you next year!!
