By Division 3 Match on 8th April : After Division 2 time for Division 3 action
Team MIB, again kicked off their debut Division 3 season with a massive win over “Wyverns” by 253 runs. MIB posted a mammoth total of 315 in 40 overs and bundled the opposition for just 62 in 13th over of the match.
Sunday 8th April 2018, after heavy rains for a couple of days, cold winds were blowing across Sano Ground. MIB won the toss and elected to bat.
Perfect start for the season as Abhishek hit the very first ball of the innings for a four. After the first wicket much needed 71 runs partnership between Manvi (26) and Karthikeyan (40) steadied the ship. The fourth-wicket partnership of 124 runs between the debutant Vasantha (53) and Captain Gurdeep (77) gave the perfect platform for Akshay (38) and Sathish (14) to take the total well over 300 in just 40 overs.
Chasing such a mammoth total of 315 runs in just 240 balls was never an easy task and MIB’s strike bowlers Santhosh (2 wkts) and Akshay (1 wkt) made sure this chase gets tougher, with their fast and furious spell taking 3 wickets between them. Wyverns lost their 2 wickets just for 1 run in the very first over. Debutant Suganthan (3 wkts) and Ashutosh (2 wkts) made sure the pressure is on the batsman as they took 5 wickets conceding only 17 runs between them. It was just a matter of time as the Wyverns were bundled out for 62 in 12.1 over. MIB registered their first win in Division 3 of JCL defeating Wyverns by massive 253 runs.
